Project

The COCADE project aims to develop a common European curriculum and education materials for co-operative education. The impact of this will be to strengthen the democratic nature of co-operative organisations, thus strengthening of civil society.

The methodology is active learning, which is centred around the learner, not the teacher. It involves putting our students in situations which compel them to read, speak, listen, reflect and write.

The target groups are 1) members of co-operatives, especially the active members who are elected to serve on various committees and structures, 2) educators and trainers who currently have virtually no support or training to assist them in their work with co-operators.

The main project outputs are education curriculum; education materials; training the trainers workshops to prepare educators to deliver co-operative member education within their countries.

The main project activities are material development and training the trainer courses.

The project started late 2004 and will run till October 2007.
